A decisively important year for the company and for the denomination. In fact it is a first for both. The first true vintage produced by Il Marroneto also coincides with the year of the designation that could boast the recognition of the DOCG. It is reminiscent of a trend with a harsh winter climate, rainfall and reduced temperature in spring and summer. The autumn was dry and a slightly late harvest with grapes of excellent quality. The vintage has a rating of 4 stars. In 1980 the company, in a recent tasting, proves to be a grand wine. Still vibrant color, like a youngster, with rich aromatic load that produces small red berries and balsamic and mineral notes. In the mouth it still has great vivacity and freshness with a sweet tannin.
